NBA
Golden State 104, Boston 94
Golden State leads 3-2
Boston started the game with 12 missed 3-pointers, not making one until there was 4:34 remaining in the second quarter. Golden State’s ability to build a lead was limited by making just two of their 9 three-point attempts, but they still led by 11 at the end of the first. Golden State followed with a second quarter where they only made 1 of 8 three-pointers, but Boston turned the ball over five times and they led by one at halftime. Boston followed up their 12 missed three pointers with 8 straight made threes mainly (5 coming in the third) while Golden State missed 14 straight. Boston took a narrow lead for most of the third quarter, but Golden State retook the lead on a Jordan Poole heave to end the quarter. From there, Boston’s shooting completely collapsed, making just 4 of 15 shots in the fourth quarter (Tatum and Brown made a combined 1 of 9). Golden State once again struggled from the perimeter in the fourth (2-10 3P), but made 10 of their 14 shots inside 3 to secure the win. Golden State made just 9 of their 40 3 pointers (22.5%) for the game, but secured the win thanks to scoring 50 points in the paint (Boston scored 52 in Game 3, but beyond that, neither team has scored more than 40). When Boston racked up the points in the paint, they pulled down 15 offensive rebounds but in this game, Golden State only pulled down 4. Andrew Wiggins scored 20 of his 26 in the paint (including this dunk), along with 13 rebounds. Steph Curry had 16 points and 8 assists in a game where he missed all nine of his three pointers. Of the nine three-pointers they took, Klay made five of them (21 points on 5-11 3P total). For Boston, Tatum had 27 points on 5-9 3-point shooting, along with 10 rebounds, and Jaylen Brown made just 5 of his 18 shots for 18 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 turnovers. Marcus Smart also managed 20 points.
